Alicia Herder is an award-winning writer-director and a Spirit Award and GLAAD Media Award nominated producer whose work blends emotional depth with bold visual storytelling, often centering women, outsiders, and characters navigating mental health, grief, and transformation.
Alicia’s credits include the short films, Good Girl (recipient of the prestigious James Bridges Award for Directing) and Diego on my Mind (Amazon); a music video for NYC artist Paytra; over 20 episodes of JellySmack’s YouTube series Undercover CEO and Supermission that have accrued more than 3 million views; and the plays The Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bones, 4.48 Psychosis, Gruesome Playground Injuries, and Rowing to America.
Alicia is a Creative Producer Fellow in the Women in Film (WIF) Fellowship program. She produced the feature film, La Leyenda Negra, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and received distribution with HBO Films. She also produced the NALIP sponsored short film, The Blue Drum, now streaming on Netflix.
Alicia received her M.F.A. in Film Directing from UCLA, and a B.A. in Theater Directing from Ball State University. Originally from Indiana, Alicia now calls Los Angeles her home.
